My Dutch friends Chris, Arthur, Michiel, Gen Gibson, Rienk would doubtlessly recognise the KLM Blue and Dutch title! KLM Asia is a unit of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. It was created because of Chinese politics. Back in the 1980s, Communist China insisted that Western airlines must choose between the Chinese market or the Taiwan market (China and Taiwan were officially at war). Communist China dictated that if a Western airline wanted to fly to both China and Taiwan, then a separate division must be created for the Taiwan route. Otherwsie the airline would be prohibited from the Chinese market.
