Nina Kasuga, captured the title of Miss Asia Arizona on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the North High School Auditorium in Metro Phoenix. Her victory is no surprise. Born in Katsuuka, Japan and currently residing in Gilbert, she has the complete package. Beautiful, graceful, elegant, charismatic and smart, her endearing qualities make her Arizona’s favorite choice and delegate for the national Miss Asian America pageant on August 23, 2008 in San Francisco, California. She is 20years old and a junior at the Arizona State University with a major in Japanese and Global Studies. As reigning Miss Asia Arizona 2008, her mission is to help and promote unprivileged children awareness. When you are in a hurry or making a meal from leftovers its pretty easy to get the flavors of Asia going. Soy, Chile, ginger and garlic, the basis for many, many Asian meals, always much better fresh, but even packaged is good. I added this to some leftover rice, a can of sardines and some chopped spring onion, voila!

This photo was taken in april 2000. After building a dam for the hydroelectric power station, this landscape doesn't exist anymore. Yamdrok Tso ( Turquoise lake ) is about 4500m above sea level, and is one of the lakes on the highest altitude.

Designed by George Gilbert Scott built by Queen Victoria out of her love for Albert. The statue was opened in 1861.Scott was later knighted for his work on this statue. The four corners represent the four corners of the British Empire. This one represents Asia.

The Alexander Hamilton Custom House is one of New York's finest examples of Beaux Arts architecture, incorporating City Beautiful Movement planning principles with architecture, engineering, and fine arts. The seven story structure with 450,000 square feet sits on three city block in Bowling Green. It is here, at the southern terminus of the old Algonquin trade route, Wiechquaekeck Trail, that Peter Minuet purchased the island of Manhattes for trinkets valued at 60 guilders, or about $24, from the Lenape Indians in 1626. Soon thereafter the Dutch West India Company built Fort Amsterdam on this site, which came to be the nucleus for the New Amsterdam settlement. After the American Revolution the fort was replaced by the brick Government House, which was intended to be but never used as a residence for the President. Instead it became the residence of New York Governors DeWitt Clinton and John Jay. The building served briefly as the Custom House from 1799 and 1815 before being torn down and replaced with rowhouses.

Decided to give the recently opened SM: Mall of Asia a visit yesterday. The place was jam packed! It seemed like the whole metro manila suddenly just decided to visit the placed. So, instead of going around the mall we decided to go on a movie marathon. :D The shots posted here were taken in between movies and after watching our last movie. :D The mall was almost empty around 10pm. ;)

Tibet is a plateau region in Central Asia. With an average elevation of 4,900 metres (16,000 ft), it is the highest region on Earth and is commonly referred to as the "Roof of the World." Geographically, UNESCO and Encyclopædia Britannica consider Tibet to be part of Central Asia, while some academic organizations consider it part of South Asia.

Tibet is located on the Tibetan Plateau, the world's highest region. The world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, is on Nepal's border with Tibet. The average altitude is about 3,000 m in the south and 4,500 m in the north. Several major rivers have their source in the Tibetan. These includeYangtze, Yellow River, Indus River, Mekong, Brahmaputra River, Ganges, Salween and the Yarlung Tsangpo River. Tibet has numerous high-altitude lakes referred to in Tibetan as tso or co. These include Lake Manasarovar, Namtso, Pangong Tso, Yamdrok Lake, Siling Co, Lhamo La-tso, Lumajangdong Co, Lake Puma Yumco, Lake Paiku, Lake Rakshastal, Dagze Co and Dong Co.

The Himalaya Range is a mountain range in Asia, separating the Indian subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau. By extension, it is also the name of the massive mountain system which includes the Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, and a host of minor ranges extending from the Pamir Knot. The name is from Sanskrit himālaya, a tatpurusa compound meaning "the abode of snow" (from hima "snow", and ālaya "abode"; see also Himavat).

Together, the Himalayan mountain system is the planet's highest and home to the world's highest peaks: the Eight-thousanders, including Mount Everest and K2. To comprehend the enormous scale of this mountain range consider that Aconcagua, in the Andes, at 6,962 m, is the highest peak outside Asia, while the Himalayan system includes over 100 mountains exceeding 7,200 meters.
